— Piranha TV is a channel of video essays, gifs and animations created by open call.
The initiative arose from the quarantine in 2020 in Argentina where, unable to go out to the usual cultural spaces, many artists and friends transformed their work into experimental animation formats or through the recording of their daily life with humor and boredom. This material formed a vast visual archive documenting a generation that had never before experienced a similar situation with these technologies available.
The premise, ‘A channel created by everyone and for everyone,’ led to the publication of all content sent to the channel, allowing selection by those who participated, resulting in a true panorama of the diversity of formats and perspectives in contemporary Latin American DIY culture.
