Riso - Proyecto Piranha

Since 2023, we have a Riso EZ230u duplicator and this year we also joined a cooperative with a Riso GR2750, where we print some of the graphic materials and zines you see at Piranha ;)

What's Riso? How does they work? I'd love to print with you!

Great! Riso is perfect for printing posters, artist books, business cards, packaging, and almost anything you can imagine! Some important things to keep in mind are the maximum print sizes and paper weight. Riso only prints on uncoated paper! Additionally, we recommend printing projects with at least 30 copies to make it worthwhile.

Every month we have a two-color printing promotion that ranges from 30 to 100 copies! Stay tuned on Piranha's Instagram.

Both machines resemble a photocopier, but their working method is very similar to screen printing. They print one color per pass using a type of mesh (master) "engraved" with the image to be printed, divided by each color.

This allows for the creation of images composed of many different colors, and new colors can be created by overlapping them :)

Their printing speed and vegetable oil-based inks make printing with Riso very accessible and environmentally friendly.
